UPDATE 2022. : From June to September, the Fusine Lakes area is accessible by car or bicycle for a daily fee of 4 euros. Access to RVs costs 15 euros. The trail around lake 1 is relatively easy even with young kids (>4yrs) it takes 40min around lake 1 (emerald lake) and overlooking the Julian's alps - there's a restaurant and a cafe around the lake after the nice walk. The best place to park is at the large parking lot by Lago di Fusine Superiore (the higher lake). You'll first drive past Lago di Fusine Inferiore (the lower lake), before reaching this car park.
